Bob Strother

Author

Bob Strother spent thirty years penning technical reports, issue papers and a mélange of work-related documents before discovering his love for creative writing. Then, in 2004, during the return leg of a road trip to Flagstaff, his wife suggested he should preserve his oft-told tales of a delightfully wacky southern family and misspent youth. He joined the Greenville Chapter of the South Carolina Writers Workshop and has been consumed with his new passion ever since.

Bob has just completed "Shug's Place" a novel-length collection of stories about a bar in Detroit, and is shopping for an agent to represent the work. He's also working on a semi-biographical portrait of his grandmother, tentatively titled "Burning Time" which he hopes to finish during 2008. His short stories have been published in over a dozen literary journals and magazines. His non-fiction work has been included in various professional trade journals and other nationally-published periodicals.

In 2005, Bob was elected to the board of directors of the South Carolina Writers Workshop, and currently serves as Chapter Liaison. He and his wife, Vicki, live in indentured servitude to grandson, Brody, and tabby, Thomas, in Greenville, South Carolina.
